I love how babies look when they wear homemade dresses. I was inspired to make this dress when my daughter was a baby. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it. This pattern is one of my favorites! If you're a crocheter looking to make a Baby Girl's dress, this tutorial is for you! In this video, you'll learn how to crochet a simple, elegant dress perfect for your little princess.
This crochet Baby Girl's dress is easy to follow and fits the bill as one of the most important dresses you'll ever make. Once you've mastered this tutorial, you can crochet any dress your little heart desires!
Abbreviations:
dc=double crochet
sc=single crochet
sl st=slip stitch
ch=chain
Supplies:
H hook
Caron soft Pink and Cream yarn, 1 1/2 skeins of Pink and less than 1/2 of white or any 4 ply yarn would work, I found the soft yarn is nice, but can be heavy.
Ribbon, I used 1 inch thick ribbon
I'm switching to a WordPress blog instead of using this Blogger platform for various reasons, so this pattern has been relocated.

I saw this on Ravelry, and knew instantly that I have to make it for my great granddaughter due in May. And a 2nd one for another one due in July. I better get busy!
ReplyDeleteLove this pattern..I am going to make for my granddaughter who will arrive in June. Do you know how I should adjust the pattern if using baby sport yarn? Would I just need to go up a hook size?
ReplyDeleteIf you want to keep it the same size, I dont think the yarn will change the size too much, so I'd keep it the same.
ReplyDeleteRuffle Row
ReplyDeleteSo St into rnd 2 back loop in the back with the sl St . This part confuses me as to what I'm sl stitching into
Can you explain
Thanks
Donna
ok it means you made a round 2 of back loops, and you are going to sl st your yarn into those back loops you created to start the ruffles. Here is a video on how to do that from a ruffle skirt I made in the past: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8V50K10S2cg
ReplyDeleteThank you I love this!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS!
ReplyDeleteAfter Rows 7-9 on the line that begins For the other strap: Is the pattern missing the words TURN -4 DC? My straps are not the same length with the pattern as written.

ReplyDeleteRows 7-11: Ch 1, dc in the next 4, Turn -4 dc (Repeat 5 times) Fasten off (That creates one strap)
ReplyDeleteFor the other strap: Slip stitch onto the other side of row 6, Ch 1, dc into the next 4 dc, Turn, Repeat rows 7-11 on this new strap, ch 1, dc in the next 4, Turn
Take both front and back of the dress and sew the straps together and the bottom of Rows 1 and 2 together, Leave the other rows open for the arm holes.
