what if i what a brim on the hat
ReplyDeleteWhat ply yarn
Deleteyou do a chain 3 to start, then front post, and then back post, alternate between the two of them and repeat again for the next rounds
ReplyDeletedo i start at row 14 or 13
ReplyDeletethat depends how big you want the brim to be, either is fine
ReplyDeleteI find your instructions and crocheting style easy to understand. My ??? Is: I want to crochet a beanie for a toddler. So I make the first 5 rounds the same way than an adult beanie? How many double crochet rounds and no increase? Thanks for your answer
ReplyDeleteabout 6 more rounds of dc no increases
ReplyDeleteMy lo is 3 but her head is a little big. How many rounds on the childs hat minus increases?
ReplyDelete6 rounds
ReplyDeleteIs it normal to see the seam where you move up a row? I feel like there is a decent size hole where I stitch 3. Am I doing something wrong or is that normal? Thanks so much! Ps love your stuff :)
ReplyDeleteyes that is normal but if you dont like that hole, then you could do a chain 2 instead
ReplyDeleteI got Red Heart yarn, but maybe the wrong one...mine seems thinner than what you are using. Can you, please specify which yarn you are using. Thank you so much. It's a great pattern...and I HAVE to make a Pokemon hat!!! Thanks again, Jane
ReplyDeletered heart medium worsted yarn, I think 4 oz
ReplyDeleteWhat hook size for a man's hat?
ReplyDeleteI would try this pattern instead for a man, http://www.amyscrochetpatterns.com/2012/11/crochet-mans-hat.html
ReplyDeleteFinally someone makes a magic circle the same way I do, I was startinv to think something was wrong with me....thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteDo you have to start with a magic circle? I have no idea how to make one!
ReplyDeleteNo you can do a chain 5, then slip stitch to join to create a ring, then chain 3, for your first dc, then work 10 more dc in the ring. sl st on top of the chain 3 or you can watch the video to learn how to do the magic circle.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your tutorials, they are easy to understand.
ReplyDeleteI finally found all the sizes for the beanies. You are wonderful !!!
Thank you again.
Amelia
Hi, I'm new at crocheting and I've made an adult beanie. I'm now trying to make a child one for my niece. She's just turned 7. I find it crazy how just changing the needle it's for a child. Is this real? haha I'm currently on row 4 using the H needle. This is ok right? I'm nervous because I first tried some other video and I was more than half way with a "child hat" and it was too big for MY head. So I had to undo it and then I luckily found your video and site!!!!
ReplyDeletePls can u translate your hook sizes to millimeters mine are in millimeters
ReplyDeleteyea here is a google search I did, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_standard_crochet_hook_and_knitting_needle_sizes
ReplyDeleteThank you for the pattern. I am making a Pokeball hat. It would be nice if you told us how many rounds for each color at least for the adult size so we had a reference point. Again thank you for the patterns and the tutorials
ReplyDeleteLove the 6 petal flower and beanie
ReplyDeletePatterns...instructionS are very clear. Hat and flower came out beautiful! I made it for a toddler for a Christmas..Thank you so much...
Hi could i get a single crochet hat pattern.please.The double crochet hat was the best.
ReplyDeleteI have dc and hdc, but not a single crochet, but that is an idea, Ill let you know if I make one in the future.
ReplyDeleteThank you
ReplyDeleteThank you for this easy pattern. What size hook must I use for toddler
ReplyDelete4 ply but you can use lighter or thicker
ReplyDeletePlease tell me why a toddler hook size is smaller then a 12 month size hook. No sense to me.
ReplyDeleteI had to go down hook sizes to make it smaller, but here is hat for a baby with a large hook, try this one, https://www.amyscrochetpatterns.com/2017/01/crochet-0-3-months-puff-stitch-flower.html
ReplyDeleteI am using hook sz F for 6-12 mos. sz hat but mine measures 20" instead of 16". My stitch count on last rows is 55. I'm using standard yarn although in the comments you said any size was ok. What am I doing wrong? Thx.
ReplyDeleteI am using 4 oz. medium acrylic yarn.
ReplyDeletehmm I would omit that last round of increases and see if it gets smaller for you
ReplyDeleteWhat size hook for man size?
